Protranz Earthmoving Ltd is a Christchurch based contracting company, established in 1997 by the owner Gerard Daldry, with a wide variety of project experience offering a number of services.

REMOTE CONTROLLED MACHINERY
Our commitment to innovation led us to develop the first remote controlled excavators that were used for carrying out complex demolitions in the Port Hills Residential Red Zone.
In a world first, Protranz have created the remote controlled excavator, whose sole purpose was to minimise risk to operatives undertaking works on cliff tops or at the base of cliffs.
This technology was also used to great effect in clearing slips following the Kaikoura 2017 earthquake and in the Deans Head land clearance works. Click the photo to get further details.

5 AXLE TIPPER
Protranz Earthmoving Limited converted a concrete truck into a 5 Axle tipper to increase productivity on sites with access constraints. The 5 Axle tipper can hold the same volume as a semi articulated truck. This was a NZ first.

SPECIALISED DANGEROUS GOODS CARRYING HOOK BINS
To be the industry leaders in all facets of the health and safety surrounding the transportation of asbestos (Land Transport Act and the Health and Safety in Employment Asbestos Regulations 1998) Protranz designed and built specialist asbestos carrying bins to minimise our clients’ legal exposure within the NZTA Chain of Responsibility and to the hazards of the transportation of asbestos.

8 X 6 HOOK TRUCK EX BRITISH ARMY
Protranz imported and converted a 8 x 6 ex British Army Truck which was utilised to provide access to challenging terrain enabling clients to benefit from cheaper rates for material import and export.

TWO TRUCKS UP - ONE TRUCK BACK.
Protranz Earthmoving Limited were engaged by NCTIR to supply concrete blocks for seawalls. As an innovation Protranz designed, engineered and fabricated specialised truck decks to carry six 5 tonne concrete blocks and a truck on the return journey. Saving on fuel and the environment, road congestion and driver fatigue as the drivers could share drive on the way home.

As influencers in the construction industry, Protranz Earthmoving Limited has made a commitment to support sustainable practices, both on our projects and in our workplaces. We also manage our own environmental impact where we can. The Protranz office incorporates mindful systems to reduce land-fill waste including paper minimization and recycling. The fleet maintenance is of upmost importance and ensures the environmental impact is mitigated as much as possible.

SECURE ASBESTOS SERVICES
Secure Asbestos Services was founded in June 2018, as a specialist asbestos and mould removal company based in Christchurch, New Zealand. A subsidiary of Protranz Earthmoving Ltd, Secure Asbestos Services was set up to assist property owners with the safe and certified removal of hazardous substances.
Our Asbestos Manager, David McGrath, has over 30 years experience in the industry, managing projects at Tiwai Point Aluminium Smelter, Freezing Works, Factories, Schools, Soil Remediations, many commercial buildings and hundreds of houses damaged in the Christchurch Earthquakes.
HARRIER MANUFACTURING 2020 LIMITED
Harrier Manufacturing are a leading manufacturer of alloy bars and decks in the South Island, supplying products to the commercial, rural and light industrial sectors throughout New Zealand.
This provides the flexibility to undertake various fabrication and manufacturing commitments within the framework of the aluminum core material and the markets we are involved in.

LEGGETT ROAD LIMITED
In September 2018 Protranz made the decision to purchase its own waste disposal as an attempt to decrease waste levels at public waste facilities such as Kate Valley and to streamline waste distribution to their appropriate recycling facilities.
Recyclable materials such as steel from small residential demolitions have been stockpiled onsite and transported to sims recycling, as well as utilizing storage space for potentially valuable resources to be gifted or sold to benefiting parties. Leggett Road has also provided an alternative disposal for contaminated material closer to the CBD reducing truck travel times and the resulting impact on the environment.
